Lisa D’andrade
Lisa brings over twenty five years of upper extremity rehabilitation experience to OACT. Upon graduation from University of Kansas Medical Center with a degree in Occupational Therapy, she was immediately drawn to the specialty of hand therapy and became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2000. She has always been fascinated with the complexity of the anatomy and the mechanics of the hand as they perform the simplest to most intricate movements to perform everyday tasks, hobbies and sports.
Lisa pursued greater knowledge in the field of ergonomics to bring clinical experience to the work place with injury prevention education, leading to studies as a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist. Lisa works with a variety of upper extremity issues, straight forward to complex injuries amongst youth to the aging population. Lisa enjoys working with sport injuries in the young population, as well as the recreational and professional athlete. Commonly treated diagnoses include fractures, joint replacements, tendon and nerve repairs, repetitive strain injuries (tendinitis), joint instability, trauma, wound care, infections, and rheumatoid/osteoarthritis. Lisa is skilled in custom splinting for protection and corrective positioning and takes pride in acknowledging that no two patients are alike and will prescribe an individualized therapy program.
When not at work Lisa is busy with her husband and three teenage children, whom are active in volleyball, soccer, tennis, golf and lacrosse. She enjoys traveling from the mountains to beaches, active in hiking, biking, tennis and water and snow skiing.
