Jason O. Toy, MD

Dr. Toy is a fellowship-trained and board certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon and specializes in the both the operative and non-operative treatment of numerous conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with Honors. After receiving his Medical Doctorate from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, he went on to complete his Orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. While at Yale, he further cultivated his interest in the complexities of the spine through clinical care and national database research. This interest led to the pursuit of a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where Dr. Toy served as a clinical instructor and was trained in all aspects of spinal surgery.

Dr. Toy is dedicated to advancing the field of spine surgery and has authored or co-authored over 30 peer reviewed scientific papers and 4 book chapters. He has participated in the review board of several Orthopaedic journals and has presented his research at regional, national, and international meetings.

Dr. Toy believes in offering comprehensive treatment of spinal disorders by utilizing conservative care above all other approaches, and leaving operative management as a last resort. In doing so, he places high priority on meeting patients’ individual needs to improve quality of life. When indicated, Dr. Toy is dedicated to operating with both state of-the-art and traditional methods to provide patients with the best care possible.

Dr. Toy recently moved to Austin, and loves exploring all this city has to offer. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, practicing Jiu Jitsu, and playing guitar.
